they then contacted me a week later, by telephone apologising, saying that on review of my application they require to resit one of my exams to achieve a higher grade. they apologised for the mistake sincerely...i did tell them that perhaps i could sit the paper this summer and be offered a conditional interview...they said that they make final decisions of who shall be attending by the beginning of summer and would rather not wait for results to come through. to be honest, i was trying every channel to not waste a year. im 26 this year, so i didn't want to waste any more time. however, they have said they would definately offer me a interview and possible place if i retook the paper and did well on next year's application. i have this in writing too. i am not sure what i could do this coming year to make use of my time. reading up on dentistry journals is good but not enough. does anyone have any recommendations as to what i could do to perhaps improve manual dexterity? i already run a knitting club making scarves for post-operative patients in 3rd world countries...and i run my own tutoring business. i can't think of anything else i can do which would help me.i have already done work experience. was it fair what they did? offering me a interview which i was preparing for and then saying no? should i just do more shadowing work? |
